Confirmation Ministry is a partnership between Confirmation leaders, parents, and baptismal sponsors in the nurturing of the students as they grow in faith.
Salem’s Confirmation program is how we prepare our young people to say ‘yes’ to the promises made for them in their Baptism. It is a time where we prepare them to make their faith their own.
The expectations of those participating in this program include: regular worship attendance, participation in midweek Confirmation events and regular Sunday School attendance, retreat/camp experiences, as well as service opportunities. The summer after the 8th grade school year students will be required to attend confirmation camp. This experience is the culmination of the program and a chance for them to spend some time living their faith.
Enrollment typically happens at the beginning of 6th grade and is celebrated in worship with the Entry into Confirmation Milestone. Students will be gifted with the tools needed for participation in the program. The program culminates with the Rite of Affirmation of Baptism during a worship service in the fall of 9th grade.
