Education at Salem
Sunday School
Salem Sunday School is a great place for your child to learn and grow in their faith. Sunday School classes are currently offered to children starting at age 3 all the way through 8th grade. Sunday School classes start in September and run through May.
We meet for one hour each week starting at 9:15 am in the Sanctuary for a Group Gathering where we enjoy songs and prayer to start the morning. Classes conclude at 10:15 am.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a 3 year program for students in grades 6 - 8. Instruction is done by the Pastor. Teams of adult leaders work closely with students in small groups of 5-6 students. Topics of instruction are the Bible, Luther's small catechism, the Lord's Prayer, and the Apostles' Creed. Service projects & fellowship are key elements in the program. Students attend one week of camp the summer following their 8th grade year. The cumination of the program is the Affirmation of Baptism.
VBS
Vacation Bible School is a five-day summer Bible school program. Children and their friends, ages 4 through 5th grade, are invited to attend. Worship, singing, arts and crafts, and recreation are the elements of the program. A celebration is held on Thursday evening for parents and other adults to attend.
Salem's Library
Salem has an extensive library that includes commentaries as well as other religious books, tapes, and videos. Please visit the library and feel free to use the self-service checkout.
